Hungry? This is Chinatown after dark, by tuk tuk, with a guide who knows exactly which stalls are worth your appetite. You follow the Michelin Guide trail through Yaowarat, hopping between hand-picked spots and hearing the story behind each one. You meet in front of the River City Complex and ride a local tuk tuk to your first stop, Lim Lao Now, for fishball egg noodles. From there you walk down to Yaowarat Road for fresh-from-the-fryer Pa Tong Go (Chinese doughnuts), then on to Nai Ek for thin rolled rice noodles, and another stop for crab fried rice with lime and chili in fish sauce.

  1. Step 1

Meet at River City Bangkok and board a tuk tuk

You meet your guide in front of the River City Complex by the river. From here you climb into a local tuk tuk to start the food trail through Chinatown.

  2. Your first stop is Lim Lao Now, a Chinatown noodle spot. You try its fishball egg noodles, a classic bowl in this part of the city.

  3. You walk onto Yaowarat Road, Chinatown's main street, for Pa Tong Go, the Thai take on Chinese doughnuts, served fresh from the fryer.

  4. Next is Nai Ek, known for its thinly rolled rice noodles. It is a long-running Yaowarat eatery on the street food trail.

  5. You stop for crab fried rice served with lime and chili in fish sauce. It is one of the dishes the route is built around.

  6. Along the way you pass Rajadamnoen Avenue, the grand boulevard that links the Grand Palace to Dusit Palace.

  7. You finish the food trail at Jay Fai, the only street food stall in Thailand to hold a Michelin star. Your guide tells you the story behind the place.
